Two foreign nationals arrested in Rethymno on drug and weapons charges
A 36-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were arrested in Crete on suspicion of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.

Two foreign nationals arrested in Rethymno on drug and weapons charges
On the morning of Thursday 2 July, police forces in Rethymno arrested two foreign nationals, a 36-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman. The man is from Albania and the woman is from Bulgaria.
The two detainees face serious charges including possession and trafficking of psychotropic substances, and are also accused of violating provisions governing weapons possession.
The operation was based on information assessed by personnel from the Drug Prosecution Department of the local Security Directorate. Once the suspects were located, searches were conducted on both their persons and their residence.
During the subsequent investigation, officers located and confiscated quantities of prohibited substances. At the same time, weapons without the required licence were found in their possession.
The Drug Prosecution Department of Rethymno is handling the case and is conducting a preliminary investigation. The detainees were brought before the prosecutor.
