Two minors aged 15 and 16 have been arrested in Heraklion, Crete following the hit-and-run of a 36-year-old woman who was walking as a pedestrian.

Police authorities in Heraklion, Crete have arrested two minors, aged 15 and 16, who are alleged to have been involved in a traffic incident in which a pedestrian was struck, after which they abandoned the scene.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon in the Poros area. The two youths were travelling on a motorcycle, which according to information they had borrowed temporarily. During their journey, the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in striking a 36-year-old woman who was walking at the location.
The woman was injured and required transfer to a medical facility for first aid. The two minors, instead of stopping to help the victim, left the scene.
Eyewitnesses who observed the incident immediately informed the authorities. Following searches, police officers located and arrested the two youths. In parallel, their mothers were also arrested, as they are attributed with the charge of inadequate supervision of minors.
The minors will be brought before the courts through the flagrante delicto procedure. Charges have been brought against them for operating a motorcycle without the required licence, causing bodily harm to a third party, as well as abandonment of the scene of an accident.
