Murderers of Vagia Nestora arrested – Statement from her daughter
The daughter of Vagia Nestora, who lost her life in an arson attack in Thessaloniki, stated she was satisfied with the arrest of those responsible. Aphrodite Nestora, a New Democracy parliamentary candidate, addressed citizens via the internet.
In her public statement, Ms Nestora thanked police officers for the speed with which they acted. She expressed the belief that investigations would progress further, with the aim of uncovering all those involved in the crime, both those who committed it and those who helped them.
She noted that the perpetrators endangered not only her mother's life but also that of her father, their neighbours, as well as her own. Additionally, she thanked the Prime Minister for the determination he demonstrated towards such actions.
Ms Nestora stressed that in a society that respects democracy, such acts of violence cannot be tolerated. She expressed the hope that the judicial authorities would impose the appropriate sanctions.
Finally, the family desires a fair trial, although Vagia Nestora was unjustly deprived of the right to life. Her daughter expressed particular thanks to Alexia Bakogiannis for her support.
