An investigating magistrate and prosecutor on Syros have decided to remand a 44-year-old singer in custody, who is accused of continuous grooming of a minor. The case came to light when the parents of the minor examined their daughter's mobile phone and discovered an exchange of messages with the artist during the previous year.
After examining the content of the conversations, the family approached the island authorities and filed an official complaint. The subsequent investigation led to the compilation of a criminal dossier against the musician. According to Newsbeast, the authorities decided to keep him in custody pending trial of the case.
During his transfer to prison, the accused felt unwell and had to be taken to hospital for medical examination. He categorically denies the allegations and claims that the assertions against him are false. Last March he had issued a statement via social media, where he refuted the claims made by the family.
The investigation is continuing in order to collect and evaluate all available evidence.
