According to details that have come to light, the perpetrator telephoned the woman while posing as a police officer. He informed her that she had come to the attention of a criminal gang that was planning to rob her, and advised her to place her money in a bag to "protect" it.
The woman was convinced by the story and placed more than 40,000 euros in the bag. A short time later, unidentified individuals came to the location and collected the money.
The case is under investigation by the relevant police authorities, who are seeking the perpetrators.
