Authorities in Thessaloniki have arrested a 27-year-old man as part of an investigation into the fire that broke out in a building where the family of Aphrodite Nestora lived, resulting in the death of her mother.

According to in.gr, the arrested young man is reportedly connected to the anti-authoritarian movement. It appears that he was the one who obtained the keys to an apartment on Papadiamanth Street from a 24-year-old and subsequently handed them to two other people, a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.

This couple is accused of using the space as a base to organise and carry out the attack on the apartment building where the family resided.

The number of people brought in for questioning in the case has now reached four. On Tuesday, the 29-year-old and the 26-year-old were remanded in custody following their statements. The following day, the 24-year-old was also remanded in custody.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of 1 July. Vagia Nestora lost her life in the fire that broke out in the building.
