Fourth arrest over arson in Thessaloniki
Prosecuting authorities have made a fresh arrest in connection with a fire that broke out in a residence on Papadiamanth Street. The person is believed to have received the keys to the property from the 24-year-old owner and subsequently handed them to the couple accused of the act.
According to The Press Project, the owner of the house was arrested seven days ago along with the couple of suspects and was remanded in custody. In his explanation to the authorities, he maintained that he had handed the keys to a friend of his, without knowing how they came into the possession of the 29-year-old man and the 26-year-old woman.
The fresh arrest concerns the man to whom the owner is alleged to have given the keys. The authorities believe that this person represents a link in the chain of events that led to the fire.
