Death at Peukochori amusement park: father claims machine was found operating in Albania
The father of 19-year-old Giannis Kampails, who was killed at the amusement park in Peukochori, claims he located the machine operating in Albania. Four defendants are being tried on serious charges.

Twenty months after his son's death at the amusement park in Peukochori, Chalkidiki, the father of 19-year-old Giannis Kampails spoke publicly for the first time with new claims about the fate of the dangerous machine. According to Newsbeast, the father alleged on the morning of Tuesday, 2 June, on Mega channel that he himself located the specific machine in full operation in Albania.
Giannis Kampails, 19, from Veroia, was holidaying with his family in the area when the ride on which he was travelling broke and the young man was ejected into the air, sustaining fatal injuries.
"A pile of metal, which very unfairly—I emphasise this very strongly—took the life of a child and brought horror to his two brothers who have to continue living and of course to a mother who gave birth to him," the father of the victim stated. He further alleged that the machine "with the tolerance of the prosecutor, then the supervising prosecutor of Polygyros, was left free and disappeared," whilst those responsible claim they destroyed it. "Through my investigation, I found this specific machine in Albania, where it operates exactly as it was," he stressed.
Four defendants are sitting in the dock, each represented by a separate lawyer, facing the most serious charges. According to the father, the defence is attempting to prove that the machine was "meticulously maintained" and that investigations which have been conducted did not have the proper basis. "There are four defendants with four different lawyers and they are all in collusion together. They simply do not know that they will not succeed," he stated.
The father also revealed that one of Giannis's brothers was in the same carriage and narrowly escaped. "The older one tried to grab him, tore his clothes but he got away. If they had both left, they would both have been killed," he said.
Concluding his statement, the father of the 19-year-old said: "Giannis will never leave. Every parent does what he can when he has his children. When he does not have his children, he does not fear anything."
