A 23-year-old Serbian arrested in Thessaloniki with a red notice has consented to his extradition for the robbery of cryptocurrency worth more than €50,000.

Serbian defendant charged with cryptocurrency robbery consents to extradition

A 23-year-old Serbian arrested in Thessaloniki agreed to his extradition to Serbia, where he is being prosecuted for the robbery of cryptocurrency, according to ERT.

The young man was taken to the Thessaloniki Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office for the execution of the international search red notice that was pending against him. Before the prosecuting authorities, he stated that he consents to the Serbian request to be tried in his country.

According to prosecutorial documents, the alleged act was carried out jointly with other individuals in 2025 in Belgrade. The case concerns cryptocurrency worth 6 million dinars, an amount equivalent to more than €50,000.

The arrest was carried out the previous afternoon at a catering establishment near New Waterfront, following a targeted police operation.
