Thessaloniki: Knife attack in city centre — three arrested
A group of five people attacked a 24-year-old Syrian man in the early hours on Aristotle Street, wounding him with a sharp object and stealing his personal belongings. Three of the perpetrators were arrested immediately.

Three young foreign nationals are in the custody of the prosecution authorities following a violent attack against a 24-year-old in Thessaloniki in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on Aristotle Street, in a central location of the city. Five people approached the young pedestrian, who is from Syria. They initially disorientated him and then wounded him using a sharp object. They took his jacket and mobile phone from him.
The 24-year-old was transported to a medical facility for first aid.
Police officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression unit responded immediately and arrested three of the five attackers. The arrested individuals are aged 17, 20 and 23, whilst the other two accomplices are being sought.
A case file was opened against the three for complicity in robbery, non-compliance and violation of weapons legislation. They were referred to the competent prosecutor.
