A knife attack involving two knives in a flat in the Upper Town of Thessaloniki led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Romanian woman, who faces charges of attempted murder.

A 24-year-old man is receiving treatment at Papanikolaou Hospital following an attack he sustained in a flat in the Upper Town of Thessaloniki. The incident occurred yesterday morning, when after a heated argument his 29-year-old partner stabbed him with two knives.
The young man suffered serious injuries to the lung, the abdominal area and his hand. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains hospitalised.
The police authorities proceeded with the arrest of the woman, a Romanian national. The weapons used in the crime were seized. The suspect was referred for questioning before the 7th investigating magistrate and remains in custody until then.
The prosecutor has brought charges of attempted murder and violation of firearms legislation. In parallel, a forensic medical examination has been ordered to be included in the case file.
