In the Neapolis area of Thessaloniki, police officers proceeded with the apprehension of a 37-year-old woman. The incident occurred yesterday evening, when officers from the force spotted the suspect in a public space.
The woman was in a state of intoxication, displaying signs indicative of excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages. With her was her daughter, who had not yet reached nine years of age.
The child was in a vulnerable position, as her mother lacked the ability to protect or properly supervise her. The police officers acted immediately and restricted the woman's liberty.
A case file was formed against her. The charge brought against her concerns the endangerment of a minor. The case will be forwarded to the competent prosecutor for further handling.
The underage child was handed over to a relative to ensure her protection and care.
