Thessaloniki: Armed criminal organisation with carbines, pistols and knives dismantled by police
A criminal organisation in Thessaloniki that trafficked drugs and carried out hooligan attacks has been dismantled. Twenty people were arrested, of which 15 are members of the group. The case file includes 51 people and three key members are being sought, including the leader.

A major police operation led to the arrest of 20 people in Thessaloniki, of which 15 are members of a criminal group that was active in drug trafficking and hooligan attacks. The case file that was compiled includes a total of 51 people, whilst three key members of the organisation, including its leader, remain at large.
During investigations carried out at residences and other locations, officers identified and confiscated significant weaponry. Specifically, a hunting carbine, three pistols, multiple knives and hammers were found. These weapons were used by members of the organisation both for the protection of their illegal activities and for the commission of criminal acts.
The group is believed to have developed an extensive drug trafficking network in the wider Thessaloniki area. At the same time, its members participated in violent attacks with hooligan motives, intensifying its criminal activity.
Those arrested were brought before the prosecutors' authorities, whilst investigations continue to locate the three fugitive leadership members. The operation is part of the broader police strategy to combat organised crime in northern Greece.
