Investigations are ongoing into an arson attack on an apartment building in Thessaloniki, which resulted in the death of the mother of New Democracy politician Aphrodite Nestor.
The 79-year-old woman lost her life during the fire that broke out in the building. The case has been handed over to the Counter-terrorism Service, which is examining all possibilities regarding the motives behind the attack.
Greek Police spokesperson Konstantina Dimoglídou stated that no claim of responsibility for the act is expected. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation in order to identify those responsible and determine the exact causes and motives of the attack.
