Police in Thessaloniki arrested a 39-year-old Pakistani national who is alleged to have extorted his brother-in-law, demanding 11,000 euros and threatening to harm him and his wife.

Police in the co-capital proceeded with the arrest of a 39-year-old man from Pakistan, who is accused of extortion against a relative.
According to reports, the accused demanded the sum of 11,000 euros from his brother-in-law, whilst threatening to cause physical harm to both him and his sister, who is married to the arrested man.
The 39-year-old is alleged to have claimed that the money was necessary to cover housing and daily living expenses.
A case file was opened against him for the crime of extortion and he is expected to be brought before the courts.
