Three individuals – two men aged 25 and 41, and a woman aged 37 – were located by officers from the Crime Investigation Department of Delta as being responsible for ten instances of theft and fraud.

Their victims were mostly elderly people living in the wider area of the municipality. The group's total profit from their illegal activities is estimated at over €79,000, comprising money and jewellery.

The tactic they employed involved telephone contact with their targets. One of the perpetrators impersonated an employee of a public company or accountant and persuaded the victims to hand over valuables and cash to an accomplice.

To hamper the work of the prosecution authorities, the group members alternated their roles and changed the composition of their teams for each new operation. They were based in a Roma settlement in Diavata, Thessaloniki.

Their illegal activities extended from the beginning of November 2025 until the middle of April 2026. During this period they managed to obtain gold jewellery worth €62,000 and cash totalling €16,800.
