Trial adjourned for 33-year-old TikToker from Thessaloniki

The Thessaloniki Single-Member Expedited Misdemeanour Court adjourned the hearing in the case of a 33-year-old TikToker, according to ERT, who faces charges of dangerous driving and disobedience following an incident in western Thessaloniki. The court accepted his application and lifted his detention, releasing him.

The 33-year-old, particularly active on social media, denies the charges. He has meanwhile alleged that two police officers from the Aliens Division broke the windows of his vehicle during his arrest, resulting in him being injured.

Following the complaint filed by the 33-year-old, the two police officers — aged 34 and 37 — were arrested, but were released on the orders of the prosecutor ahead of a preliminary investigation that he ordered. The Hellenic Police also ordered a Sworn Administrative Inquiry into the same incident.

According to the Police, the 33-year-old's arrest followed a pursuit: the young man is said to have ignored a stop signal and driven at high speed.
