Police forces have arrested three individuals over firebomb attacks on the homes of New Democracy party officials in Thessaloniki, resulting in the death of Vagia Nestor and the injury of her daughter.

Three individuals are now in the custody of the Greek Police in connection with the firebomb attacks that struck the homes of New Democracy party officials in Thessaloniki and led to the death of the mother of politician Aphrodite Nestor.

From the early hours of Friday, officers from the Counter-Terrorism Service have been conducting operations in areas of Thessaloniki and Crete. The investigations concern the three arsons that took place on Wednesday, 1 July, at the homes of New Democracy officials, resulting in the murder of Vagia Nestor.

In the incident, the daughter of the deceased Aphrodite Nestor was also injured, along with her husband Panagiotis, as well as two other residents of the apartment building.

The operations of the prosecuting authorities are continuing in both areas, aimed at identifying and apprehending any other suspects who may be involved in these illegal acts.
