Three arrested in Chalandri for fraud involving impersonation of DEDDIE employees
Three members of a criminal organisation were arrested in Chalandri whilst allegedly attempting to steal jewellery worth €15,000. The organisation's total proceeds are estimated at over €80,000.

Three individuals were arrested in Chalandri while, according to authorities, they were attempting to steal jewellery totalling approximately €15,000 from a residence. According to Newsbeast, the three defendants belonged to a criminal organisation and played the role of "collectors".
The criminal ring's activities, as established through investigation, are believed to have begun at least from the beginning of last August. Members gained access to residences by posing as "DEDDIE employees", with the aim of stealing money and valuables from their victims.
The total proceeds allegedly accumulated by the organisation through fraud and theft exceeds €80,000.
Three-tier structure
The organisation operated with a clear hierarchy. At the top were the "management executives", followed by two operational teams: the "phone operators" and the "collectors". The former were responsible for identifying potential victims and carrying out fraudulent telephone calls. The latter visited the residences to collect or steal money and valuable items.
From the preliminary investigation, it was established that the three arrested individuals are implicated in at least four additional cases with the same modus operandi. A fourth defendant, who is being sought, is alleged to have made his vehicle available to the organisation, which was used as an "operational vehicle" for transporting the "collectors" to the victims' residences.
The three arrested individuals were brought before the prosecutor. The investigation is continuing to locate any potential accomplices and to investigate the possible involvement of those arrested in further cases.
