According to information from local media trikalaola.gr, the death resulted from a shot fired by a hunting rifle. The victim's brother, also elderly, claims the weapon discharged and that he did not intend to kill his relative.
The victim was taken to Trikala hospital, but doctors were unable to keep him alive.
According to information from ANA-MPA, the victim's brother was arrested and is being held at Trikala Police Security. The prosecutor has been informed of the case.
