New video footage from a series of break-ins at a shop in Nikaia, where an employee fought back against an armed perpetrator using a mop.

Additional video footage from the 21 illegal break-ins that have occurred at a sweet shop in Nikaia has been released by newsit.gr.
The footage captures one of the multiple raids on the establishment. The intruder breaches the main entrance and heads directly to the till, which he opens. He then attempts to prise open drawers with a pocket knife, searches other areas and leaves without being disturbed.
The most widely known incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, 5 July 2026, after 10 p.m. A person entered the shop wearing a blue cap and black medical mask. He approached the till, pulled a weapon from a small bag and threatened the employee, demanding the takings.
The employee realised the weapon was not real. She grabbed a mop she had beside her and rushed at him, then chased him. The perpetrator managed to seize whatever cash was in the till and disappeared. Before leaving, he apparently also opened the shop's refrigerators and stole items from inside.
The video of the employee rushing at the robber with the mop had circulated widely on the internet. The owners and staff of the shop have seen the shop's entrance broken into 21 times to date.
