Court ruling on lifting of secrecy in Mazionakis death investigation
The District Court Panel decided to lift telephone secrecy in the case of singer Giorgos Mazionakis's death, according to Dikastiko.gr. Through its ruling, the Judicial Council approved the request submitted by the 32nd examining magistrate as part of the investigation into the circumstances of his death.
The decision concerns a total of six mobile phones, one hard drive and one USB device, which had been seized during a police investigation at the clinic on Karneadou Street. The devices belong to Mazionakis himself, the two accused doctors, two secretaries and a nurse who worked at the clinic.
The analysis of the digital data will cover the period from 11 July 2026 to 10 September — one day after the singer's death. This corresponds to the maximum time period prescribed by law.
The Judicial Council's ruling fully adopts the prosecutorial submission that preceded it, which also recommended the "opening" of the electronic devices of those involved.
