Sky ECC and EncroChat case: 47 users remain at large in Greece
In the encrypted platforms case that led to dozens of arrests, 47 users have not yet been identified. Three of them are considered particularly significant to the drug trafficking network.
Sky ECC and EncroChat case: 47 users remain at large in Greece
Forty-seven users of encrypted platforms have not yet been identified in Greece, within the investigation concerning the Sky ECC and EncroChat networks. The case had led to dozens of arrests of suspects for participation in a criminal organisation that operated in the international drug trafficking between Greece, Albania and Spain.
Among the anonymous users, two—who used Sky ECC exclusively—are estimated to have been significant drug suppliers to two criminal groups. The first group is said to have been led by Aleksandër Pando and the second by Denis Grabocka and Andon Salati.
Additionally, another unidentified user of the EncroChat platform appears to have operated as a middleman in the transfer of large sums of money for the criminal organisation via the "Hawala" system. The money was channelled through a shop at 101 Acharnes Street in Athens.
Greek authorities are working to connect the usernames of anonymous users with specific names in order to assign them criminal liability.
