Kypseli case: Psychologists to examine the three minor children

The authorities have reached a critical stage in the investigation into the death of an infant in Kypseli, according to Newsbeast. At the centre of the investigation are the statements of three minor children, who are to be examined by specialist child psychologists.

Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglídou, speaking on ERT, characterised this examination as decisive for the progress of the case. Simultaneously, laboratory DNA testing has been initiated with the aim of establishing whether the three minors are indeed members of the same family and what their relationship is to the deceased infant.

The two parents who are in custody continue to provide no information that would shed light on the circumstances of the death. The findings of the forensic examination remain a central element of the investigation, although the results have not yet been released.

Dimoglídou also mentioned that inquiries are being conducted regarding possible involvement of social services or prosecutorial authorities in the past. However, as she clarified, the police records have so far revealed no criminal involvement on the part of the parents.

Digital evidence seized from the flat is also under scrutiny. "There is digital evidence which is being examined at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, as we must establish whether any crimes have been committed by the parents against the minor children," the police spokesperson stated characteristically.

The authorities are investigating every possible offence against the minors, whilst simultaneously continuing to seek answers about the precise relationships between the individuals who were in the flat at the time of the events.
