Two Czech citizens aged 27 have been detained in the tourist resort of Mali Lošinj after retaining a Louis Vuitton canvas bag found containing more than 45,000 euros.

Two Czech citizens aged 27 have been detained in the tourist resort of Mali Lošinj after retaining a Louis Vuitton canvas bag found containing more than 45,000 euros, which corresponds to approximately 1.1 million Czech crowns. Source: Novinky.cz
The bag was allegedly found on Priko Street. Inside it were 45,300 euros, of which 45,000 euros were in a paper envelope from a local bank. In addition to the cash, the bag contained the owner's personal items and those of his children, as well as a wallet with a further 300 euros.
The men decided to keep the found bag. When they were later arrested by police, 6,100 euros were missing from the total amount, equivalent to approximately 150,000 Czech crowns. The Czechs claimed they did not take the missing money and that they had found the bag by chance during a walk through the town.
According to Croatian media, both men work as building technicians with a monthly salary of around 2,000 euros, approximately 49,000 Czech crowns.
The local court placed both men in jail in Rijeka, citing that as foreigners they could flee. They can be released after paying a bail bond of 3,200 euros, nearly 78,000 Czech crowns, each.
