Two teenagers suspected of series of perfume thefts in Zagreb
Police in Zagreb are investigating an 18-year-old and 19-year-old in connection with 16 perfume thefts from shops. They are alleged to have stolen more than 237 bottles, with losses totalling nearly 35,000 euros. One of the suspects also assaulted a police officer while fleeing.

Police in Zagreb have concluded a criminal investigation into an 18-year-old and 19-year-old suspected of robbing shops across the capital city over an eight-month period. They are alleged to have removed more than 237 bottles of perfume, with total losses amounting to approximately 34,624 euros, according to Index.hr.
The offences occurred, according to findings, from September 2025 to May 2026. They most frequently entered shops in the city centre and New Zagreb in the afternoon, took perfumes from shelves in front of staff members, and fled.
The younger suspect was only 18 years old, but took part in all 16 cases. He committed seven alone, five with the 19-year-old co-suspect, two with a 25-year-old, one with an unknown person, and one case together with both of those mentioned.
The older of the two is also under investigation for assault on an official. On 6 June on Jelačić Square, he ignored a police officer's order to stop. While attempting to flee, he physically assaulted the officer who was attempting to detain him.
Following completion of the investigation, the younger suspect was handed over to a detention supervisor and a report was submitted to the state prosecutor's office. Police are still searching for the 25-year-old and another man involved in the thefts. All three had previously been reported to police.
