A Hollywood film is currently being filmed that recounts the destruction of the Nord Stream lines in September 2022. The film is directed by Doug Liman, known for The Bourne Identity. Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody takes the central role; Sean Penn appears in a supporting role. According to Der Spiegel, the set in the Croatian capital is equipped with sandbags, anti-tank obstacles and men in camouflage clothing. In September 2022, three of the four Nord Stream pipelines between Russia and Germany were destroyed. Initially Russia was considered a possible perpetrator; later investigations focused more strongly on a Ukrainian commando comprised of soldiers and hired divers.
According to Der Spiegel, the man arrested in Zagreb is one such diver. Another alleged member of the group is already in custody in Hamburg.
