Italian citizen in Istria filmed naked children with camera in watch
A 53-year-old Italian was detained on Thursday at a Croatian campsite in Istria for allegedly filming naked children on the beach with a camera concealed in a wristwatch.

According to Žurnal24, a 53-year-old Italian citizen was detained on Thursday in the Croatian Istrian area for allegedly filming naked children at one of the local campsites with a camera built into a wristwatch.
A security guard at the campsite noticed the man's suspicious behaviour on Wednesday afternoon and immediately reported the case to police. During an inspection of the suspect's technical equipment, officers found incriminating material, the Istrian police administration stated.
Following the completion of the criminal investigation, the man was detained on Thursday afternoon and charged with the exploitation of children for pornography.
Last year, according to police data, Croatia recorded 452 criminal offences of this type, with the majority of cases detected in summer at beaches and swimming facilities.
The Istrian police administration emphasised that the public is becoming increasingly aware of this problem and that citizens are more frequently recognising suspicious behaviour, which enables timely response and apprehension of perpetrators. Parents have been urged to be watchful of their children and monitor their movements on the beach.
