Canadian tourist arrested after fire near Drniš, two accomplices still on the run
Croatian police have detained a 28-year-old Canadian woman who started a fire in Dalmatia with two compatriots. The remaining pair fled to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Google News SI — Crime (sl), Šibenik police have arrested a 28-year-old Canadian national who, together with two compatriots, started a fire on 17 August in the Bobodola area near Drniš in Dalmatia.
The trio lit an open fire in the afternoon near a gravel rest area, which caused dry grass and shrubs to catch fire over an area of 15 by three metres. Four firefighters with two vehicles extinguished the fire just before 6 p.m. The quick response of local residents and firefighters prevented more serious damage.
Witnesses observed the trio in the act, photographed them and noted the registration plates of their vehicle. The remaining suspects — a 30-year-old man and 31-year-old woman — crossed the border together with a minor child after the incident and fled to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The couple is reportedly of Serbian origin and is said to be from Bosanski Grahovo.
The 28-year-old separated from the pair and attempted to re-enter Croatia alone, as her travel companions were planning to return to Canada whilst she wanted to check whether the border crossing was safe. Police officers recognised her at the Kamensko border crossing and arrested her immediately.
The detained woman was handed over to custody by the Šibenik-Knin police administration. Criminal charges have been filed against her for endangering life and property through a generally dangerous act. Croatian police are continuing an intensive search for the fleeing couple.
