Two young men were arrested at Pula airport with forged Danish and Finnish documents as they attempted to travel to the United Kingdom.
Forged passports discovered at Pula airport
Two young men, aged 21 and 23, were found at Pula airport with documents suspected of being forged. The case was discovered on 14 July when they attempted to pass through border control.
Initially, they presented documents issued to stateless persons from Greece, indicating travel to the United Kingdom. Border officials established that they did not meet the conditions for entry into that country and directed them to a secondary inspection.
During the additional examination, further documents were found on them – allegedly of Danish and Finnish origin, with their photographs. Expert inspection showed that these papers contained irregularities characteristic of forgeries.
Following the investigation conducted, both suspects were transferred to custody under the jurisdiction of Istrian police.
