Seven minors accused of a violent altercation in Zagreb's Dubrava neighbourhood remain free under supervision by social services with an obligation to report regularly to police. This decision was made by a youth judge, and the state prosecutor's office did not appeal the ruling, according to 24sata.
The attack took place on 8 June in the evening. According to statements in the investigation, the victim suffered a group physical assault following a verbal altercation. One of the suspects struck him multiple times with fists to the head and torso, causing him to fall to the ground. Four others joined in and continued kicking him across his entire body. When five of them stopped, the sixth struck him several more times with kicks. The seventh minor did not participate physically, but allegedly verbally incited the others.
Police launched an investigation after receiving a recording of the incident. All suspects were located and brought in within less than a day. Five are being charged with attempted murder, the sixth with participation in a fight, and the seventh with violent behaviour.
This is already the second case in just over a week in which the court has released violent assailants free. Source: 24sata
