Minor in Split arrested after burning peer with lighter and extorting money
Split police have arrested a minor born in 2010 on suspicion of assault and extortion of a peer in Pazdigad. The case was discovered only after video footage became available to police.

Split police arrested a minor born in 2010 this morning, who is suspected of attacking and extorting another minor, born in 2009, in Pazdigad approximately two weeks ago, Index.hr reports.
The assault was recorded by a person from the group that had gathered around the victim. Police were unaware of the incident until last night, when the video footage became available to them.
Portal 24sata, which is in possession of the footage but has not published it, reports that the suspect initially asks the person with the mobile phone: "Are you recording?" He then grabs the victim by the collar, presses him against a table and, while shouting "Where's the money?", searches through his bag. He takes a pack of cigarettes from the bag, and then burns the victim's hand with a lighter.
Several young people present verbally warned the attacker to stop, but nobody physically stopped him.
The Split-Dalmatia Police Administration confirmed to Index that it was unaware of the incident until last night. "Upon reviewing the video, police officers identified the injured party and the perpetrator," the Administration stated.
The attacked minor was found the same evening. He did not seek medical help, and no bodily injuries were established.
The suspect was arrested this morning and a criminal investigation is being conducted against him on suspicion of extortion. Police believe that conditions for ordering investigative detention have been met, and upon completion of the investigation he will be handed over to the detention supervisor.
Police did not disclose how much money the suspect demanded, nor was it confirmed whether an investigation is also being conducted against persons who witnessed or recorded the assault.
