A serious security incident occurred in the afternoon in the Zagreb district of Utrine. One man pulled the fuse from a bomb and threatened to detonate it directly outside a primary school, according to Večernji list.
Police immediately deployed to the scene and set up protective barriers around the school, nursery and neighbouring facilities. Traffic was halted on nearby streets, and dozens of officers sealed off access to the settlement.
The suspect reportedly sat on a bench holding the device in his hand. Following swift police action, he soon surrendered and was taken into custody. During the operation, it was confirmed that he indeed had explosives on him.
The case is under further investigation, and the motive remains unknown. Witnesses said the man remained quiet and calm throughout the entire incident.
