Man in Solin given 12 days in prison: fled police, possessed drugs and assaulted officers
A 52-year-old from Solin was arrested following a series of serious offences: refusing to stop, causing a traffic accident, possessing marijuana and attacking police officers.

The Municipal Misdemeanour Court in Split, Permanent Service in Solin, ordered 12 days in prison for a 52-year-old who on 30 August committed a series of serious traffic offences, possessed drugs and insulted police officers. According to 24sata, the incident occurred at around 21:30 in Solin.
Police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by the 52-year-old that evening, but he did not respond to either sound or light signals. He continued driving and during the flight caused a traffic accident in which he sustained serious injuries. Despite his injury, he did not stop — he only came to a halt when he could no longer continue moving.
An investigation showed that the man had no right to drive: due to 12 accumulated negative misdemeanour points he was not permitted to obtain a driving licence until 3 June 2027. Additionally, the vehicle's traffic permit had expired more than 15 days earlier.
A search of his person found 10.5 grammes of marijuana. Preliminary testing confirmed the presence of drugs in his system, but the man refused to provide blood and urine samples for further analysis. During police proceedings he insulted and disparaged the officers.
In its indictment proposal, police sought detention of 15 days due to the danger of reoffending, a total fine of €2,450, a custodial sentence of 120 days and permanent confiscation of the motor vehicle and registration plates. The court ultimately ordered detention lasting 12 days, after which the man was handed over to prison.
