In the night from Saturday to Sunday, shortly after midnight, a masked man broke into the yard of an auto repair shop on Travanjska Street in Sesvete and set a fire. Fourteen cars and one boat were destroyed in the flames, and the vehicles belonged to various owners.
According to information provided by 24sata, the perpetrator is likely a younger man who was concealed in dark clothing, long trousers and a hood pulled over his head. He entered the yard shortly after midnight and quickly set the fire.
The on-site investigation established that an unknown person had soaked multiple vehicles with a flammable liquid, after which the fire broke out. The fire partially or completely destroyed 14 vehicles and one boat, and the property belonged to several natural and legal persons, the Zagreb Police Directorate announced.
Police are working intensively on identifying and apprehending the perpetrator. The exact amount of damage is not yet known, but it is estimated to be significant.
