German tourist (66) in Istria filmed naked children, arrested after public intervention
A private security employee on 6 July at around three o'clock in the afternoon noticed a foreign man filming naked minors with his mobile phone at a tourist accommodation on the Istrian Peninsula. The man in question is a 66-year-old German citizen. The security guard detained him at the scene until police officers arrived.
Police arrested the man and conducted an investigation. During a search, they found material on him that confirmed suspicions of serious criminal offence. Officers from the Istrian Police Directorate completed the criminal processing of the case and concluded that the suspect had committed the exploitation of minors for pornographic purposes.
The following day, 7 July, he was taken into remand custody with a report submitted to the competent state prosecutor's office.
Officials emphasise that this case is an example of how citizens increasingly notice inappropriate behaviour towards young people and react promptly, which enables police to act quickly and prosecute the offender. Source: 24sata
