Police in Zadar are investigating a 36-year-old man who stabbed a 21-year-old with a knife in the early morning hours in Mandre while the younger man slept.

The Zadar Police Administration has concluded its investigation into a 36-year-old man. He is charged with a serious assault on a twenty-one-year-old in the settlement of Mandre on the island of Pag. The incident occurred yesterday morning.
According to the conviction of officials, the older man took a cold weapon and stabbed the younger acquaintance with the aim of killing him. Before the attack, the two spent the evening together at the victim's flat. At some point a physical altercation broke out, but the reasons have not yet been established. After that, the twenty-one-year-old went to rest, and his host, according to the claims of investigators, attacked him with a sharp object at around twenty minutes past eight in the evening.
The young man suffered serious injuries and was transferred to Zadar hospital. The suspect was found and taken into custody at the address where he lives.
Experts carried out an investigation at the crime scene. In the course of the proceedings, searches were conducted of residential and other premises, during which objects that could serve as evidence were seized.
Among the confiscated items were several mobile devices, an electronic scale, approximately 40 grammes of cannabis, around three grammes of powder whose composition has not yet been analysed, and four ecstasy tablets. Officials continue to investigate possible unlawful production and trafficking of narcotics.
After the Zadar State Attorney's Office filed a criminal complaint, the suspect was remanded in custody.
The Zadar Police Administration emphasised that the same person had been the subject of multiple proceedings in the preceding period and had been reported for various offences.
