Police arrested a 42-year-old Danijel T. on Sunday after he fired shots from a pistol on Saturday at a car park of a Čakovec establishment and seriously injured two men.

A 24-year-old and a 28-year-old sustained gunshot wounds on Saturday evening at a car park of a Čakovec establishment. The attacker is 42-year-old Danijel T., who was arrested by investigators the following day.
According to an official statement from the Međimurska Police Administration, the suspect is being charged with attempted murder, as well as endangering life and property through general dangerous conduct. The condition of both young men, although seriously injured, is now stable, and their lives are not in danger.
The attack took place at the car park of a catering establishment. Danijel T. first verbally threatened the victims, and then fired shots from a pistol in their direction. During this incident, at least one other woman was exposed to danger.
Investigators from the State Prosecutor's Office and police discovered that the suspect has an extensive criminal history. In the Republic of Croatia he was reported for fraud, whilst in neighbouring countries he engaged in suspicious activities. In Bosnia and Herzegovina he ended up in prison for unlawful possession of weapons and explosives, as well as for dealing in and cultivation of cannabis.
Police are continuing the criminal investigation to clarify all details of this case. Upon its completion, the Međimurska Police Administration will inform the public of the established circumstances.
