An elderly man (83) from Koprivnica lost more than 6000 euros after falling victim to a trick by an unknown person on the internet. The case is being investigated by police in Koprivnica.
The fraud took place over the past two years. The man made contact online with a person who offered him investments in digital currency, precious metals and jewels. The person then persuaded him to download a special programme on his telephone and enter the password for his banking application.
After following the instructions and transferring money, the unknown person took control of his account through a remote access application. Thousands of euros were then transferred from his bank card to another account.
