Rijeka police have detained a twenty-nine-year-old who verbally and physically attacked an older man and inflicted life-threatening injuries.

Rijeka police have completed criminal proceedings against a twenty-nine-year-old Croatian citizen. He is charged with attempted murder.
According to evidence gathered, the suspect verbally attacked a fifty-four-year-old fellow resident of Rijeka at dawn yesterday, and then physically assaulted him. During the attack, he used a collapsible baton and a sharp object.
The victim was transported to the Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre. Doctors established that he had sustained severe injuries which endanger life.
After investigators gathered evidence, they prepared an indictment for submission to the competent state prosecutor's office. The attacker was then handed over to pre-trial detention supervision.
