Croatian police have taken into custody a man suspected of opening fire on the car park of a hospitality establishment in central Čakovec early on Saturday morning. Two people sustained serious injuries in the attack and were treated at the local hospital. Doctors confirmed that the patients are stable and their lives are no longer in danger.
The incident occurred on 4 July shortly after four o'clock in the morning. The perpetrator left the scene after the shooting, which triggered an extensive search. According to available information, the suspect was hiding in the territory of Slovenia.
Portal Index reports that investigators established contact with him through an acquaintance from the criminal underworld. Following this, the man agreed to surrender. He is now in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and endangering life and property with a dangerous means.
