Wanted man (49) injured in Slavonski Brod: barricaded himself in house, gunshot heard
A man wanted by police refused to leave a house in Slavonski Brod, whereupon a gunshot was heard. The injured man was taken to hospital.
Gunshot in morning hours alarms residents of Jelas settlement
A man (49) who was the subject of a manhunt was injured on Friday morning in a house in the Slavonski Brod area, according to 24sata. Residents of the Slavonski Brod settlement of Jelas noticed several police vehicles, but initially did not know what was happening.
Officers of the Brodsko-Posavska Police Directorate determined through operational work the location where the suspect was hiding. When they called on him to come out, the man refused to respond and barricaded himself in the house.
After some time, a gunshot was heard from the house. The man then, at the police's request, exited the house injured. Police officers and paramedics from emergency medical services provided him with first aid around 10 o'clock, and he was then taken to hospital, where he was kept for further treatment.
The investigation is ongoing. Following completion of treatment and criminal investigation, and on the basis of an order from the County Public Prosecutor's Office in Slavonski Brod, the suspect will be transferred to Požega Prison. The man is charged with committing criminal offences, but details of the charges have not been released so far.
