Danijel T. (43) is in his second day on the run after opening fire on two men in a car park in Čakovec. He was recently released from prison in Bosnia and Herzegovina where he was convicted of dealing and producing marijuana.

In the night leading into Saturday, in the car park of a nightclub in the centre of Čakovec, a 43-year-old from Croatian Kostajnica opened fire on two men. He then disappeared, and Croatian security forces have been conducting an intensive search for him for two days. He is assessed to present a serious threat.
The person in question is Danijel T., who was released not long ago from a prison facility in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina. He spent five and a half years behind bars there for illegal production and trafficking in cannabis. Along with him, two of his accomplices were sentenced to prison for the same case—one to six and a half years, and the other to three and a half years.
According to court documentation, T. was engaged in cultivating the narcotic plant from 2018. He started in Banja Luka with one other person, where they cultivated smaller quantities. They soon expanded the network. They rented storage space in Trnc, a settlement between Laktaši and Banja Luka. They deceived the owner—they told him they would be processing plastic there, and they used forged documents from a Slovene company. The monthly rent was 3,000 KM.
The authorities of the Republic of Srpska launched an investigation in 2019 under the name "Unikat". In the interior of the hall, which they had converted into a professional laboratory, almost 800 plants of Indian hemp in the final stage of growth were found, almost two kilogrammes of dried matter, explosives, firearms, and significant sums of money in euros and Swiss francs.
