Police officers in Osječko-Baranja County will file criminal charges against a 53-year-old man residing in Đakovo. He is suspected of committing the criminal offence of unlawful possession, production and acquisition of firearms and explosive materials.
Officers conducted a search of the residential building, additional premises and passenger vehicle used by the suspect. Through this procedure, carried out on the basis of a court order, they found two short-barrelled firearms, three hunting rifles, six hand grenades and more than eight hundred bullets of various calibres.
In addition, authorities also seized firearms which he held with a licence: two hunting rifles, one pistol with two magazines and all corresponding documentation. This material will be forwarded to the competent police office in order to initiate an administrative procedure to withdraw the licences.
The case will be submitted to the Osijek Municipal State Attorney's Office for further proceedings.
