Two Colombians in the Zagreb neighbourhood of Medveščak physically assaulted and robbed a 26-year-old compatriot. One has been arrested, while the other remains at large. The victim was deported due to unlawful residence.

In the early morning of 4 June 2026, at around 2.30 a.m., in the Zagreb settlement of Medveščak, a violent robbery took place. Two men, including a 30-year-old Colombian national, intercepted a 26-year-old compatriot who had arrived by taxi on Ulica kneza Borne. As soon as he left the vehicle, the attackers physically assaulted him, took his mobile phone, a wallet containing cash and his passport, and fled. The damage is reported to be worth several thousand euros, according to Index.hr.
Police suspect that the 30-year-old committed the criminal act with another man whose identity is unknown. Following an investigation, the arrested suspect was handed over to the remand supervisor within the prescribed time limit. The case has been reported to the Zagreb County State Attorney's Office, and police continue the search for the second attacker.
Notably, the injured young man also ended up at a police station. He was arrested on suspicion of residing in Croatia without permission, and after the investigation was completed, he was expelled from the country on the basis of an official decision.
