Around 5:55 am, a report came in from a citizen about a person in Ulica Luka III holding a firearm, leaning against a fence and drinking alcohol. The intervention unit quickly arrived at the location.

At the scene, officers found a 52-year-old Zagreb resident who was articulating incoherently. Two pistols with ammunition in the barrels and magazines were found on him, both fully functional.

When police officers approached him, the man attempted to run. Officers took him down, restrained him, and brought him to the station. He was soon afterwards transported to hospital for medical examination.

The person has an extensive criminal history and has been reported multiple times in previous years. Minister Davor Božinović confirmed that he has been subject to a mandatory treatment order since 2025, and in the past there was an indictment against him for attempted murder in 2016 committed with an illegal pistol.

The investigation is ongoing.
