Murder in Šestine: two men from Bosnia and Herzegovina planned liquidation of Zagreb entrepreneurs
Zagreb police have concluded their investigation into the murder of a 22-year-old in Šestine. They discovered that the perpetrators had previously planned the liquidation of two entrepreneurs.
Planned liquidation, victims did not arrive — they killed their accomplice
The murder of a 22-year-old committed on 12 April in a house in Zagreb's Šestine had a sinister background, according to Večernji list. The investigation revealed that the suspected minor and victim M. P. had shortly beforehand jointly planned the liquidation of two entrepreneurs in Zagreb.
According to police claims, the suspected minor, M. P. (22) and several other persons as yet unknown, between March and April 2026 agreed on the murder of two people. On 8 and 9 April, in the evening hours, they waited for them near a catering establishment in Zagreb — but the attack did not occur because the potential victims did not appear.
Several days later, on 12 April, the situation reversed. It is suspected that the minor fired at least three shots at M. P., two of which hit him. M. P. died at the scene between 8.15 and 15.05 hours. The minor left the crime scene, but police officers noticed him on the street already at 21.45 hours. His suspicious behaviour prompted them to investigate, and he was soon arrested. He was placed in Remetinec, and in addition to the murder he was criminally reported for conspiracy to commit a criminal offence.
Konjevic's role: knew of the murder, said nothing
The investigation also led to Dino Konjević (36), who on suspicion of preparing a criminal offence also ended up in Remetinec. Zagreb police completed the criminal investigation in which they suspect him of conspiracy to commit a criminal offence and for failing to report a criminal offence.
Konjević is suspected of knowing who killed M. P. in Šestine on 12 April, but did not report it to the police. Instead, he communicated about it with several people via messaging applications.
A search of a car and flat that Konjević used resulted in the discovery of money suspected of being proceeds of crime. The police noted that Konjević had previously been reported to them multiple times for various criminal offences.
Both travelled from Bosnia and Herzegovina
Both the minor and M. P. are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the investigators' current findings, they arrived in Zagreb precisely for the planned liquidation of two entrepreneurs. The contract killing was not carried out because the targeted individuals did not appear at the agreed location — which, as is now clear, saved their lives.
After M. P.'s body was found, Zagreb police reconstructed the course of events. The investigation revealed connections between the participants and led to the arrest and criminal charges against the minor and Konjević. The question remains open as to who the other persons as yet unknown involved in the agreements about liquidation are and where they are located.
