A major police operation was conducted in the Tokyo zone, Delmas 2, in Port-au-Prince on Monday 19 January 2026. During this operation, six gang members were killed, according to information provided by the Police Communications Directorate (DICOP).
Law enforcement recovered numerous weapons during the intervention. These included: eighteen shotguns calibre 12, three AR-15 rifles, one .22 calibre rifle, eight pistols. They also seized a quantity of ammunition in calibres 5.56, 12, 7.62, .38 and 9 mm.
In addition, police seized five drones and some police uniforms. A specialised unit carried out this operation in the Delmas municipality.
