700 identity checks, 29 arrests: police raid at Kelenföld railway station
Enhanced police presence has been experienced in the area around Kelenföld railway station for a week. 29 people were detained, including 17 on the basis of wanted notices.

According to Index's report, the XI. District Police Headquarters has provided continuous, increased-strength presence in the vicinity of Kelenföld railway station since 28 May, responding to resident complaints. Patrol services are also reinforced by units from the BRFK Public Order Protection Directorate and the Ready Police, meaning officers are present near the station around the clock.
During the week-long operation, over 700 identity checks were carried out. A total of 29 people were arrested or detained: 17 on the basis of wanted notices, eight on suspicion of drug use, three for hooliganism, one for theft. In 12 cases, on-the-spot fines were imposed or reports were filed for breaches related to public alcohol consumption and public order offences.
The Budapest Police Headquarters has placed additional surveillance cameras in the old underpass at Kelenföld railway station, the authority announced. Working together with the local authority, the police will continue to maintain enhanced presence at busy points in the district. A public cleanliness and public safety operation jointly planned with BKK will be repeated in Kelenföld on 18 June.
