20-year-old man fires airsoft gun at pedestrians in Hatvan
A twenty-year-old man fired an airsoft gun at people in Hatvan city centre from his father's car. The Hatvan District Court sentenced him to suspended imprisonment and a fine.
Fired airsoft gun from car, brought before court
According to 24.hu, a twenty-year-old man drove around Hatvan city centre with friends in late May and fired an airsoft gun from his father's car window at people walking near the post office. One plastic projectile hit a pedestrian in the stomach.
The man then continued on his way and at a crossroads fired again in the direction of pedestrians – this time hitting another person's hand.
The injured parties sustained contusion injuries healing within eight days, though only one of them filed a private complaint.
According to a statement from the Eger prosecutor's office, the defendant's behaviour was provocatively antisocial and violent, capable of causing alarm in others. The prosecutor brought charges against the man two days after the incident for armed hooliganism and the offence of assault causing light bodily injury.
The Hatvan District Court sentenced the defendant to suspended imprisonment and a fine in accordance with the prosecutor's motion.
